Yoga:
a Holistic Approach

Diana Harrington,

CYT 200

I was exposed to Yoga in childhood and then rediscovered it in college when I took my first group yoga class in 1996. I intensely studied the origins and applications of Yoga for a decade before becoming certified as a Yoga Teacher in 2013. My passion for yoga and fascination for the mind-body connection developed while seeking to heal my own childhood wounds. In my 20’s I was debilitated by physical pain and yoga helped me manage my pain and release the stuck emotions that I didn’t attend to over the years.

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.”

~ Jon Kabat-Zinn

I am a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher, have advanced Iyangar Yoga training, and practice Kundalini Yoga daily. I have been blessed to have the right teachers on my journey: the late Jyoti Hansa, Gary Kraftsow, Hemalayaa Behl and Swami Maheshananda Saraswati, who imparted truths on how to work through difficult emotions through Yoga. I am honored to bring their teachings and over 20 years of experience with me to the mat.

Recognizing that our physical bodies are constantly communicating our thoughts and emotions, I teach my clients how to become aware of their body’s messages, on and off the mat. My approach to healing is holistic, so I blend my training from various schools of thought to create a treatment plan that is designed for each individual.
